Here For The Climb

In the summer of 2023, Michael Nobile reached out to me with an idea for a story. He had a vision to create a project around racing my first 100-miler! The Oregon Cascades 100 is a race put on by Alpine Running that traverses some incredible single track trails connecting Bend, OR and Sisters, OR through the beautiful Deschutes National Forest. The first two years of the event I had the opportunity to serve as the aid station captain at the mile 55 checkpoint. Because of my association with the event, this is the race I planned to use for my debut 100 in 2023. Due to an injury sustained in training, the opportunity was delayed until the 2024 race. But a dream deferred is not a dream denied. Michael was able to follow along on race day to capture and create a beautiful documentary around what turned out to be a special day.
